The Australasian Retreat for Advanced Volunteer Management is the brainchild of Andy Fryar and Martin J Cowling. It was held for the first time in Canberra during March 2005 with attendees from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States.

2006 Retreat
This year's Retreat is being held in August in Brisbane at the Bardon Centre which is in close proximity to the Botanical Gardens. There are a total of seventy places available.The retreat experience is open to any volunteer manager who can demonstrate that they possess at least two years experience. Not having this will preclude you from involvement at this time.

The Aims of the Retreat

1. Support the emerging profession of volunteer manager
2. Encourage and strengthen volunteer managers at an "advanced" stage in their professional development
3. Aid volunteer managers to stay in the profession
4. Provide an advanced level training opportunity
5. Help volunteer managers to consider how they can foster development of their profession

Retreat 2006 Fees

• $499 Early Bird (the first thirty participants to book and pay by May 1, 2006)
• $535 AAVA Member rate (Australaisian Association for Volunteer Administrators)
• $555 Full rate from May 1

These rate includes meals (except Breakfast- see below), all materials, resources, seminars and access to leading faculty. There are a total of seventy places available.
