HSCM2006 provides a unique opportunity for practitioners and researchers to meet, exchange ideas, examine the current modelling trends and issues, and develop new solutions and research directions to ultimately, improve patient and client care by:

  • Widening international understaning of the potential benefit of modelling health and social care systems
  • Highlighting instances where theory meets practice and practice meets theory.
  • Encouraging close working relationships between practitioners, decision-makers and modellers
  • Increasing understanding of the different modelling, computational and data analytical methods used to measure and model health and social care services

TOPICS OF INTEREST
Papers are invited on, but not restricted to the following Techniques and Clinical and Practical Applications.

Techniques: Information Systems, Intelligent Systems, Optimisation and Meta-heuristics, Simulation and Modelling, Soft and Hard Systems, Statistical Analysis, Stochastic Modelling.

Clinical and Practical: Capacity Planning, Community Care Management, Disease Monitoring & Management, Early Diagnosis and Screening, Impact onf E-Health on patient management, Implementing change, Long Term Care, Long Term planning, Resource Usage, Survival, Waiting List management and, Workforce planning.

PUBLICATION
Selected papers will be invited to submit for puclication in a special edition of an established journal (discussions are currently occurring regarding with publishers and once confirmed details will be provided).

Invited session submission date 1 October 2005
Deadline for abstract submission 9 December 2005
Notification of acceptance 19 December 2005
Deadline for early bird Registrations 31 January 2006
Deadline for author Registrations 15 March 2006 (for inclusion in abstract book)
