“Monique Michaels-Kuhl attended the 2005 Nevada Governor’s Conference on Tourism at Wynn Las Vegas from December 12-14.
The theme was “Think BIG”, three big days designed to inspire your next big idea about tourism in Nevada. Be entertained. Be enlightened. Be inspired. And then, thinking big.
The Governor of Nevada opened the conference and the program included speakers covering subjects from “How emotionally connected is your web site” presented by Philippa Gamse to “Coloring outside the lines” presented by futurist Watts Wacker. “Working together for a stronger future for the Chinese and American travel industries was presented by Mr. Xiqin Zhang, Vice Chairman, China National Tourism Administration.
Next year’s conference will be hosted by Silver Legacy Hotel & Casino in Reno. The Governor’s Conference rotates with Northern Nevada hosting the conference one year, Southern Nevada the following year. Attendees are representatives from hotels, transportation companies, meeting planners and wholesale tour operators. Wedding chapels and other venues and attractions are also represented. The conference is a great opportunity to speak with fellow delegates from around Nevada and the world (approx. 1,000 attendees); to create new contacts and rekindle old relationships. “
