He is the founder of the multi-million dollar motorbike business braaap which now has stores across Tasmania and Victoria, as well as opening stores in the USA.
Dan is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of the Thankyou Group. The business started as Thankyou Water, a social enterprise selling bottled water in Australia to fund safe water projects in developing nations. Over $770,000 was donated to this cause in the past few years. The enterprise has now expanded to include food and body care ranges, stocked in Australia’s largest two supermarkets. Dan was named the 2013 Victorian Young Achiever of the Year and Victorian Young Australian of the Year.
Paul Ryan was a co-founder and former director of Wizard Home Loans with Mark Bouris. Wizard was sold to GE in 2004 for $510 million, with a loan portfolio of $12 billion. Paul was director of sales and distribution. More recently, he founded intouch Finance. The company now has 18 branches nationally.
Tom founded Eagle Boys Pizza in Albury in 1987. Within 20 years, he’d opened over 200 franchises in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. His innovative service approach included a unique two-minute pizza express and a two-minute service guarantee. Tom sold the company in 2007 and has now moved into the bakery business.
Aged 22, New Zealander John Anderson left with 25 pounds for a European holiday. He returned 20 years later with a wife and four children – and an international tourism business called Contiki Holidays. By the time he sold the business, they had 160 coaches, 700 staff and 100,000 passengers annually. John’s story is one of success and failure and the determination to succeed.
Carolyn is the founder and managing director of Carman’s Fine Foods. She grew the company from a tiny supplier to a multinational company turning over in excess of $50 million annually. Carman’s in now the number one-selling muesli in Australian supermarkets and exports to 26 countries. Carolyn was named 2012’s Telstra Business Woman of the Year. She’s currently a mentor on Recipe to Riches.
Janine is the founder and managing director of Boost Juice Bars. The company went from zero to 85 stores and 1250 employees in three years, and now has more outlets than any other juice bar in the world. The company has now expanded to include the brands Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill and Cibo Espresso. Janine was named 2004’s Telstra Business Woman of the Year.
